Hi,
Does 5% salary reduction require an amendment even though the salary is still much higher than the prevailing wage? I have been on a reduced salary for a year and about to get a visa stamp. Everybody says something different on this issue. I am just worried that this will cause problems in the consulate. I don't even know how the consular officers actually figure someones annual salary from their pay stubs. Should i just go and act like everything is normal and not mention about the reduction? Because it makes such a little difference in every paycheck. Please help me out on this issue. Nobody responded my previous post. I am very stressed out.

Seems there are so many issues for us to face on the journey to live the American Dream. I wonder how many members have been affected
Death of a petitioner, Step children of USC and H1B children aging out, E 2 children having no status upon reaching 21 years. And the lack of a retirement visa for our parents (usually elderly) to move to the USA, retrogression amongst other issues like delays errors
If you have been a victim of any of the above please show support by signing this petition http://expatsvoice.org/forum/petition.php maybe both sites can work together for the benefit of the majority

Hi,
If a person is on dependant visa (H4) and applies for green card with their spouse's green card application, can they apply for H1 as well?
Thanks,
Nisha

I filed 485 on July 2nd with an EAD with receive notice date of march 2007. it is not approved yet. Will I get an EAD even before the I140 is approved or should the I140 be approved for the EAD to be issued.
Thanks
Thanks

I work for a big company. Each time when I move to a new project, my company ask me to file an LCA and H-1B amendment for new project location. It takes several month to get approval until then you have wait and face all travel restrictions.
I know that several smaller companies dont file such amendments
Does anyone who why do we have to file such amendment?
What happens if we dont file this?

I am Aug 07 filer , I was not able to submit my medicals with my I-485 application .
I got my medicals done with civil surgeon in sept 2007 and was waiting for RFE to submit the sealed cover . I never got a RFE but I got a interview at local office next month .
So can I submit the sealed cover that the civil surgeon filled in 2007 or do I need to get all the tests done again now and fill a new form .
Thanks

S-9, the amnesty bill introduced by Senator Scary Reid in January has no text and no calendar. Apparently Obama wants to choose his fights and knows that a bad bill, like S-9 will sink his popularity and the chances of getting what he feels is more significant legislation passed (Health Care). Obama knows the immigration bill is a time bomb that could derail his agenda and alienate democratic support and spiral into a political nightmare.

The NY Times' Nina Bernstein reports on spouses of US citizens who are facing exile for technical and minor violations of their visa status. DHScomes off fairly sympathetically in the story - the implication is they were trying to help and the mean courts and the dysfunctional Congress are to blame. But ICE has a lot of discretion in deciding who to put in to deportation proceedings. They have been encouraged to look at the facts of every case and use common sense in determining which people to put in deportation proceedings. They are not obligated to put every person...

Will it not affect the green card processing? I mean, if during the green card process, they ask for the ITR and they see the additional income from the rental property, won't they deny the I-140 or I-485?

American Family Visas are permanent Immigrant Visas, meaning genuine applicants under this category may obtain permanent residency in America if they meet qualifying requirements.
Family migration is based around 2 general categories; one is based on a preference system and the other offers permanent residency regardless of the demand for Immigrant Visas. The latter, the Non-preference Category, is for immediate relatives of American citizens.
Fiancee's of American citizens will need to apply for a temporary non-immigrant K1 Visa if they wish to join their partner in America.

what are the security checks involved with the green card process, and when do they come up?
up sometimes during 140 stage(security). But 100% during 485 stage.
The check I know is called "Name Check" done at 485 stage.

Hi All,
I just gave my fingerprints today. I got a match warning for almost all my fingers. I dont remember giving all my finger prints to USCIS at any point of time.. At the max, I would have given thumb and index finger when i travelled.. does this mean i am in trouble?
Any input is appreciated!!
THANKS

I saw a thread this morning about how to open a company when 485 pending, but I couldn't find it now. Anyone can help? great appreciate!
Do google with as many as keywords from that thread followed by immigration voice, you'll definitely get as long as that thread is still open.
Thats how I do.
